Hi! I’m Minerva.

My pronouns are she/her or xe/xem/xyr. (Both sets are fine; don’t worry about which one you should use.)

I was born in 1991 in Belgium, where I work as a pharmacist. Although my first language is Dutch, I developed a love for the English language through shows on the BBC, like Sherlock and Doctor Who. That’s why I usually write in English.

Long before I learned English, when I was five, I wrote down my first story about a princess picking berries. The second was a lot more exciting, about a bear who met a pirate-detective.

My writing is inspired by the magical universes of Discworld, Middle-earth and Hogwarts. These days, my favourite books are the Wayfarers series by Becky Chambers.

When I’m not writing, I enjoy baking, drawing, handlettering, yoga, and learning languages. I also like dragons, purple, and good LGBTQIA+ representation.

You can hear the pronunciation of my name via this link on TeachingBooks.
